Talk to Jodie
MY STORY
Hi, I'm Jodie
I'm a Person- Centred counsellor.
I'm a registered member (MBACP) of The British Association of Counsellors and Psychotherapists.
I am delighted to welcome you to my page.
Often reaching out for support is the scariest part, so I'd like to say well done for taking that first step.
I began my counselling journey after going through a difficult time myself. Talking about feelings was something that my family did not do, so it opened me up to a whole world of emotions. Until I'd experienced counselling I had no idea of the value of having that someone there to talk to, whom I could confide in.
It was after this that I had a career change, a fresh, start and began my counselling journey at The University of Salford.
I graduated with a BSc Honours, (First class) in Counselling and Psychotherapy (professional practice)... I found my calling!
I like to think that during my career I have gained experience working with a variety of clients, offering them all a judgement free, warm and safe space to be their true selves.
As well as focusing on my private practice I work part time for an EAP service, as an immediate support counsellor, offering a Solution Focused approach to clients who call into the service.

During the pandemic I supported the staff in a local care home, offering them a listening ear and comfort in an incredibly difficult time.
I have experience working with a wide variety of clients, from work related stress, depression, anxiety, bereavement and people in crisis.
I also have experience working within a Domestic Abuse centre, with women who have experienced emotional and physical abuse. This has given me plenty of experience of working with anxiety and depression.
